CURATORIAL PROJECTS

2021 New Iconography: Artists Raising Children, The Landing, Los Angeles, CA. This exhibition contributes to a new and evolving discourse about art and parenting by examining artists’ responses to parenthood, investigating and critiquing existing cultural dogmas. Artists include Catherine Opie, Loie Hollowell, Paul McCarthy, Edgar Arcenaux, Alison Saar, Harry Dodge, and others. 

2019 Time Wounds All Heals, Charlie James, Los Angeles, CA. This exhibition examines the legacy of Lucio Fontana among contemporary artists, gathering works by Anna Betbeze, Sarah Cromarty, T.J. Dedeaux-Norris, Daniel Gerwin, Elana Herzog, and Simon Slater, all of whom work aggressively with their mediums to generate subject matter, engaging a materialist realism flowing from Fontana’s innovations. 

2018 Surface of a Sphere, Klowden Mann, Los Angeles, CA. This exhibition considers how far contemporary artists have traveled since modernism’s exploration of space and objecthood, revisiting and extending the legacy of shaped painting while generating new possibilities. Material and symbolic strategies can explicitly articulate the political. Artists include Tomashi Jackson, Rachel Eulena Williams, Loren Britton, Martha Clippinger, Cordy Ryman, Justine Hill, and others.
